Many bloggers love
their RSS readers. Not only
that, but they also love to get new RSS readers.
It's so fun when you
wake up one day and find that
your Feed Burner account jumped
to 200 or 300, right?
Those days are rare, however, and many
people seem to struggle to find even a small number of new members regularly RSS.
Is there anything I can do about it? However, you want to attract customers more efficiently RSS?
Is there anything I can do about it? However, you want to attract customers more efficiently RSS?
Sure there are. Many people have written about this topic in the past, but I wanted to give my opinion about it too. I
wrote 50 because they thought
that came to my head, as briefly as possible. Enjoy.
- 1.Use the FeedSmith plugin. If you give a lot of code recipes on your blog, readers can still subscribe to various RSS feeds provided by WordPress. This plugin ensures that all members will be sent to the FeedBurner feed so you can monitor them and control how your feed is organized.
- 2.Have a big RSS icon: People are lazy. You need to put the fact that it is always on the mind. If you use a small RSS icon, visitors will have no trouble finding it. Most of them give up after a couple of seconds to ensure that the RSS icon is large and easy to recognize.
- 3.Write a post asking for people to subscribe? Have you ever heard the saying "Ask and you shall receive"? This principle works in many areas of our lives. Blogging is no exception. If you want people to subscribe to your feed, ask! Write a post on it, give them some reason and you will see how they respond.
- 4.Use an email subscription form. For many bloggers, subscription form email better than a simple change "Email Subscription" link. This is because Internet users are used to seeing around the form, and write your e-mails is not bright enough. In the sidebar is a good place for one.
- 5.Write valuable content. Only people subscribe to the RSS feed if there is anything of value that can be derived from it. This value may come from different factors differently depending on their age: You can come to provide news, as the topic that you write, or because of the funny things to say and so on, but it should be there.
- 6.Publish new posts frequently and consistently. By frequently I mean publishing many posts for a week or even a day, and
a series I mean sticking to that religion often. Those two things are communicated to visitors that your blog
is active, and reading RSS may be the best way
to stay updated and it's true.
- 7.Display the RSS icon above the fold: Besides using big RSS icon, you should make sure that the show is over the fold. That's where most of the blogs and one, and that's where people are used to look when they want to join, so go with the flow.
- 8.Create a landing page on your blog to convert visitors in subscribers. If you are going to buy some posters or other types of advertising, it is recommended that you create a landing page for visitors on best practices. Using this describe your blog page, which displays the contents of your best and asking them to join. By doing guest blogging, you can use this page as a link in my name too.
- 9.Have a special “Subscribe” page with all the info and links there. In addition to writing after teaching special to your readers about RSS, you can also create a special page "Join" on his blog where he briefly explains how to use RSS feeds, and place all ingredients contributions, logos, and email type. Then you can link to the page sidebar, and link to say "Subscription Options" or "How to join."
- 10.Offer email subscriptions. Like it or not, it's just a small percentage of Internet users know about or use RSS feeds. Studies show that this number is less than 10% worldwide. Why do you want to lose the other 90% of the cake? If you use FeedBurner, just go to "advertise" tab fee to activate your e-mail.
- 11.Don’t exaggerate. When the number of posts per week or per day is generally a good thing is written, there is a limit to it. Many people refer to it as a blog start to overwhelm with dozens of new messages per day only membership. Exceptions to this rule are niche blogs fast paced as device information.
- 12.Send traffic to that page using PPCPay-Per-Click such as Google Adwords is one of the easiest ways to send targeted traffic to your site. Based on the color quality you get (which is calculated from the side of AdWords) you start to get visitors for as low as $ 0.01 each. I mean, for $ 100, you can send up to 10,000 visitors to your landing page. A rate change of 1%, this means 100 new members.
- 13.As few steps as possible: People are lazy (I identify I mentioned it before, but it is attraction re-emphasizing). The smaller number the steps obligatory for them to subscribe to your blog, the better. If you can condense the number of clicks necessary, therefore, do it!
- 14.Write unique content. The content that might have value, but if people can get elsewhere, they have no reason to subscribe to your RSS feed. For example, suppose a copy of the publications of popular blog in your niche, say Lifehacker. Are you happy to still have value, but it would not be unique, and most people could finish reading the original source?
- 15.Write an ebook and ask people to subscribe in order to download it. I don’t know you like it or not, e-books are part of the network. Many people who write and many others downloaded and read. If the content is well structured and promotion, having thousands of people want to read. What if you then need people to join first before downloading it? That will bring many new members Devils.
- 16.Offer a full feed. If your goal is to have as many members, then offer a full RSS is the only way to go. Most people get upset and feeds stereotypes, and even if you do not feel the urge to be read for the first time, to commit soon after.
- 17.Have
clear focus on your blog. If you
write about 10 different subjects,
it would be difficult to convince people
to subscribe to your blog. They may like your article
about the technology, but I'd
hate like housecleaning is .... Having a clear
goal is one of the most effective ways to
attract customers.
- 18.Setup the RSS icon on every page of your blog: When I started my blogging I did this error. Only my homepage I used by the RSS icon. As soon as I added to every page on the blog, the number of subscribers increased.
- 19.Use icons to offer subscription on the most popular RSS readers. A practical thing you can do to reduce the number of steps required to join your feed using RSS reader icons are specified (for example, "Google Reader", or "Subscribe in Bloglines"). Only analyze common RSS readers among its members and add the icons in the sidebar.
- 20.Launch an email newsletter with Aweber. I email newsletter can be used to complement the content of most blogs. Send an e-mail every week for members to view your Go to your niche market, along with some additional tips, tools, etc.. If you decide to Aweber for your newsletter, you can use the "Blog Broadcast" turn those members have roles in RSS readers as well (with a weekly summary of their diet).
- 21.Offer random prizes to your subscribers. If you are a fan of contests and tournaments, you can always convince people to subscribe to your RSS feed giving away random prizes. For example, if a company is about to donate some free copies of their products, in turn can help their clients
- 22.Use your RSS feed link when commenting on other blogs. Many bloggers have a habit of commenting on other people's blogs. Some do it just to join the conversation. Because they always want to promote their own blogs for give some traffic. Either way, you can post the link of the RSS feed instead of a website to encourage people to subscribe to your feed (if you use FeedBurner, will be able to view the content anyway).
- 23.Use words: Depending on your audience, simply using the RSS icon can be effective. If you are not tech savvy, you might not know that little orange thing is. In this case, you can write a small message explaining that you can subscribe to keep up with your posts and so on.
- 24.Write guest posts. Visitor messages are a very efficient way to generate both brand awareness and traffic method. As a guest blog on popular blog in your niche on the right, there is a good chance that a good percentage of incoming traffic that you just read your feed.
- 25.Encourage readers to subscribe at the bottom of every post. Besides being an icon RSS subscription form and mail in time, it is also important to keep them under each. Why? Because rights after people have finished reading your articles, looking for something to do then, and reading your blog is a good choice. Also, as the article you just read was really good, will it be the right ideas subscribe to receive more of your articles in the future.
- 26.Welcome the new readers. Each managing the country after guest on the popular blog, or when one has been mentioned in the web site is large or dominant, can be a good idea to write after special welcome to readers. Use after being briefly describe your blog, talk a little bit about yourself, and encourage them to join.
- 27.Go popular on social bookmarking sites. Some people say that the quality of the traffic comes from social bookmarking sites
(eg Digg and
StumbleUpon) is very small. This is
true to some extent, as they rarely
click on anything done on your page (and subscribe link). Due to the large amount of traffic that can be obtained in these areas, however, even a small degree of flexibility really means 200 or
300 new members in
just 24 hours.
- 28.Run a contest. The competition is very popular in the blogosphere. If you have a somewhat popular blog, in fact it is not hard to add some gifts to create one. To make your RSS reading needs to participate, you can quickly increase the number of subscribers you have. If you want to control who gets to take this step, use the method of email subscription.
- 29.Explain to your readers what RSS is. As mentioned earlier, it is estimated that
less than 10% of the popular knowledge
about usage or RSS feeds. Can you do
something about it? Sure you can! Writing after teaching readers
what RSS is, for what is good, and how you can start
using it. It works especially well on blogs are an expert
in private technology.
- 30.Don’t ramble or go off topic. If your blog has a clear focus as we suggested before, readers will subscribe to it for a very specific reason. If you then start writing about off topic stuff, it will annoy a great part of them. Just consider that a bad or unrelated post is worse than no post at all, since it might make some of your readers actually unsubscribe.
